Web Hosting

Computers are everywhere all around the world.  Every day people are accessing the Internet for information and in order to keep up with technology one has to be knowledgeable in the field.  Without web hosting, many pages would not be available.

Web hosting houses, serves and maintains files for web sites on dedicated servers with direct access to the internet.  In order for individuals and companies to see a web page a web hosting service must be provided in order for them to see the information.  The files are usually delivered to the web through Internet service providers.  Many Internet service providers can be free or free to members.  There are several different kinds of web hosting.

Free web hosting normally has limited services and is riddled with advertisements and or pop ups that advertise a particular item or service.  Shared web hosting places the individual or company on the same severs ranging from a few to thousands. All of the domains share a common domain or pool such as random access memory and central processing units.  In other words, the computers are connected; hence the term shared web hosting.

Reseller web hosting allows the individual to become web hosts themselves depending on whom they are affiliated with as a provider.  Reseller accounts vary in size and can have their own dedicated server.  In a managed hosting server the user gets his or her own web server but does not have full control over it.  The user cannot modify the server or create configurations problems and does not own the server, the server is leased to the client or company.

Home server is a popular server as it is one single machine dedicated to host one or more web sites from a consumer broadband connection.  Few individuals have this type of server at home as it is not convenient as they have to be purposely built or have a machine with it built right in.

Depending on the individuals needs and the type of web hosting they want to do, there are varying ways to go about web hosting.  Investigating and researching should provide fruitful when deciding what type of hosting to use on your computer.
